Christmas 2021!ππ
~with a pandemic disclaimer~
The back space button was used frequently in writing this post.... you know the classic, write something bold, heart feltπ, possibly slightly inappropriate and most likely emotionally charged ...Christmas... a time that can be filled with love, and family and joy. Also can be a time filled with anxiety, worry and uncertainty. This year we get to focus on an additional layers of how a world wide pandemic and flooding will affect out holidaysπ
How long will the kids be off school, will we see family, which family will we see, can we see friends, can we travelπ?..... well great....
Some of you are breathing a sigh of relief! 10 people??? I can only see local family?? hmmmm.... this is amazing! Work Christmas parties cancelled.... no need to squeeze into that black dress or suit you wear once a year. Bring on more baked goods, wine and Netflix!
There is the other end of spectrum. You had major grandiose plans in you new home, you have the big table, the view, the dΓ©cor, fresh paint and Christmas sparkle is glistening over every room just waiting to be adored...this was your year, you are the party place for 2021!!! well you were supposed to be, but now you can't entertain the way you were planning....I despise the COVID disclaimer on everything that we do. But it is a reality that we have come to endure and adapt to.
No matter how you normally spend the holidays this year will likely be much different. While the holiday season is a favorite of time for so many, a time for holiday baking, decorating, beautiful lights, stockings, religious sentiment and quality family time. Holidays are a tough time of year for many people, single parents, low income families, estranged families, recent job loss. Mental health at this time of the year is heightened, add the uncertainly of the future and the social and economic stresses make what would already be a difficult time of the year even more difficult.
(I may or may not have hit backspace again here multiple times.....) delete, delete, delete....
It's really simple, and it's been said over and over.... Just be kind ! πTake a deep breath π·(through your mask) be patient when the person in front of you can't figure out the pin pad, or can't find their card, tip the delivery person just a little more, let the person cut in line, don't post that negative comment, take an extra moment to say something nice, post something positive and be a light to this world π
